Barry R Smith - Global Church

I have just watched a rather old Barry Smith DVD that I had downloaded from the Internet called Global Church. It was made in 1995 and shows this remarkable man at his best.

There are a couple of points that I had picked up which I would like to mention; he speaks of the EU as being the final world empire and then he says once they get their leader (the Antichrist) there is but a short space of time left after that – 42 months. See Revelation Chapter 13.

That seems to lie to rest the fallacy that the current leader of the EU Herman Van Rompuy is simply only warming the seat for another man to occupy it at a later date, and that he is not the Antichrist.

Once the position for a full time president had been created, and filled, as a result of the Lisbon Treaty it seems to be ridiculous that Satan would appoint a man to simply occupy, or to warm, the seat while he brought his Antichrist forth at a later date; wouldn’t he instead just get on with the job instead for annihilation of mankind as quickly as possible without beating around the bush as some seem to suggest is the circumstance at the moment by the appointment of Van Rompuy as the full time president of the EU?

Of course I may be wrong (no names mentioned) but I really do believe that some people should wake up to reality.

The second point is that Barry Spoke on the resurrection of the dead and said that on the day of the Lord the dead will rise first and then we (the Christians) will meet the Lord in the air, just as the Bible said would be the case.

However, he never once used the word Rapture and to my mind meeting the Lord in the air does not signify that there will be millions and millions of Christians that are suddenly going to float up into the clouds and into Heaven to be with the Lord forever as about 95% of Christians have been brainwashed into believing.

There is a very distinct difference between meeting the Lord in the air and the meaning of the prophecy as some like to interpret it, as mentioned above.

I do agree that AFTER THE RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD that there is going to be some form of gathering up of the Christians on the day of the Lord, but I still cannot find one verse to suggest it will be anything like most view the Rapture, and I use that term loosely - as mentioned above.

However, I still cannot find one verse to suggest anything to do with timing and to suggest anything to do with time is absurd simply because no –one knows the hour or the day for the coming of the Lord.
