Israel Told to Halt its Expansion Plans for East Jerusalem

The Middle East Quartet peace mediators have called on Israel to freeze all settlement activity and say their aim is to create a Palestinian state within two years.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon, who led the meeting with representatives from the US, the European Union and Russia, was the latest to condemn Israel’s plan to build 1,600 homes in Ramat Shlomo, east Jerusalem. Mr Ban said: "

The Quartet urges the government of Israel to freeze all settlement activity, including natural growth, dismantle outposts erected since March 2001 and to refrain from demolitions and evictions in east Jerusalem.

“Recalling that the annexation of east Jerusalem is not recognized by the international community, the Quartet underscores that the status of Jerusalem is a permanent status issue that must be resolved through negotiations between the parties, and condemns the decision by the government of Israel to advance planning for new housing units in East Jerusalem."

Also at the talks in Moscow were EU foreign policy chief Baroness Ashton, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and the Quartet’s special envoy, Tony Blair.

The Quartet also expressed hope that condition would be ready for the establishment of a Palestinian state within two years. Nir Chefetz, spokesman for Israel’s Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, said that discussions Mr Netanyahu had had with Mrs Clinton before the Quartet’s meeting had led to "mutual confidence-building steps" but refused to comment further on how talks might progress.

Mr Netanyahu will meet Mrs Clinton in Washington next week, and US special envoy to the Middle East, George Mitchell, is likely to return to Israel this weekend.

Palestinian chief negotiator Saeb Erekat has called for a "surveillance mechanism” installed by the Quartet “to make sure that Israel does effectively halt completely all settlement activity in the West Bank and east Jerusalem.” End of quote

This may be some form of a concerted full on push for Middle East peace leading to the signing of the treaty of Daniel Chapter 9, Verse 27, - the covenant of the Antichrist.

And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make [it] desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. Daniel Chapter 9, Verse 27

'EU economic government' proposed by France and Germany

Germany and France have tabled plans to create an "economic government of the European Union" - with new permanent EU President Herman Van Rompuy in charge.

The contentious language is contained in a document prepared for an emergency meeting of the 16 "Euro zone" EU leaders this evening on the sidelines of a summit in Brussels. The meeting is to decide on a "mechanism" for bailing out the crisis-hit Greek economy if necessary, including a "substantial" contribution from the International Monetary Fund.

But the discussion paper put together by Berlin and Paris to restore the euro's credibility also states that the EU should assume economic control in the longer term.

The draft states: "We commit to promote a strong co-ordination of economic polices in Europe. We consider that the European Council should become the economic government of the EU and we propose to increase its role in economic surveillance and the definition of the European Union growth strategy."

The European Council is the formal name for summits of EU leaders which, under the Lisbon Treaty, are now chaired and organized by Mr Van Rompuy, the former Prime Minister of Belgium.

The one-page text is due to be discussed by the 16 Eurozone leaders, but tonight British officials were taking a keen interest in the language proposing "economic government".

They will be concerned about the nation's economic sovereignty; although one official pointed out that the UK Government last January published a paper on jobs and growth which called for an annual EU economic summit and for the EU to take a strong lead in "macro-economic growth across Europe". After having posted the aforementioned article onto the Internet I had noted that nothing was said on the World News in Australia relative to the proposals mentioned above.

There were grandiose proposals mentioned by both France and Germany reltive to a 20 billion dollar bailout plan for the Greece and the other ailing Eurozone countries economies, Spain, Italy and Portugal, but nothing of the plan mentioned above.

Although I have not verified the above information if it does prove to be correct then by handing an economic government over to the EU president we may be looking at a plan that effectively hands all power within the EU over to the newly appointed president Herman Van Rompuy effectively setting him up as a dictator, just as the word of God said would be the case in these last days.

Therefore this is not small news by any means. On the contrary it is news of a magnitude that remains unrivalled ever since the appointment of Van Rompuy himself to the role of the presidency.

Given that the US has rejected Israel’s plan to further expand its settlements into East Jerusalem and the pressure that is going to put onto Israel to comply with the International quartets plan for peace in the region we could be looking at the fulfillment of the Bible prophecies of Revelation Chapter 6 Verse which quite clearly says (when referring to the Antichrist) that he is given a crown and then rides out like a conqueror bent of conquest?

And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer. Revelation Chapter 6, Verse 2

Time will tell for as with the case with most of the of the Bible prophecies we cannot accurately forecast their outcome until they have actually taken place.

On the other hand, if Van Rompuy is as I have suggested then we are quite easily able to forecast what all of this is going to lead to by just reading our Bible. There has never ever been a time since I have been writing about Bible prophecy that I have seen events turning out precisely as they are at the moment.
